Biodanza is called the “poetry of human encounter” precisely because we come together on the dance floor to honor self, the other and the universe in solo dances and those of human and nature connection.  We gaze into the eyes of humanity, hold hands with our brothers and sisters, embrace the beauty of the others on the dance floor in support of what is with no judgement given.

Biodanza stimulates personal transformation in a powerful way by providing a safe space and an enriched environment to experience one’s potentials within. Listen to what one lovely new participant in NYC had to say after a one day workshop:

“I had a completely amazing experience! I have been in a process of letting go and grieving some heartache and loss of a precious relationship, and I felt safe in that space to gradually let my heart begin to open up again. Michelle, you are a powerful and healing presence to be around, and it meant so much to me that you gave us your time and energy in that way. I also have had issues with dance and movement, as I usually feel I cannot follow choreography and become intensely frustrated at trying to learn steps, start feeling like an idiot and have to quit. This form of dance was perfect for me because it was only what I wanted it to be and I didn’t have to follow anyone else’s steps but just dance my own heart dance. I felt supremely alive, beautiful, brave and graceful.”

As a facilitator, it brings me great joy to open spaces for Biodanza in the lives of others.  The simple act of moving our beautiful bodies in authentic ways to the sublime music in the background has a profound effect on the mind, body & spirit. We are able to be truly present with ourselves, the space, and with the music for two hours of encounters.  Over time, these enriched Biodanza environments create positive shifts for participants much like the comments in the above feedback.  It’s a beautiful testament to the powerful nature of self and Biodanza.

I am thrilled to be coming to Earthdance to facilitate a weekend retreat on March 16th during which we will explore the male/female aspects in us all and play with the soft and powerful energies that we possess or need to possess more of!  I invite you to come dance with us and the embrace life!

First off, it was such an honor to be invited to present Biodanza at this prestigious institute, top of the top in the USA.  Omega hosts the likes of Thich Nhat Hanh, Caroline Myss, Byron Katie, Eckhardt Tolle…all some of my favorites….and now, BIODANZA and me.

It was “Arts Week” at Omega during my time there and there were 13 workshops being offered.  Writing, singing, performing, flowers, trapeze, watercolor, mandalas, comedy improv, photography and DANCE, of course, were part of the repertoire of choices.
Biodanza is definitely an “art”.  One of our training weekends is “Ars Magna” , the Great Art of living.  For when Rolando created Biodanza, he did so with the hopes that people would learn how to LIVE better and more productive lives with LIFE and LOVE at the center of humanity.  In this sense, it was really very appropriate that Biodanza be at the Arts Week program at Omega.

I was just so amazed by all the people I met. People come to Omega to recharge their batteries, so to speak, and to discover the potential that is deep inside them.  And indeed, I met so many talented people this week!  Brave people who got up on stage to do comedy improv, sing, present their photography for all to see and to dance.
Omega is a no phone zone, for the most part, so it’s a place where you can be present with the space, the people, the work.  I loved it.   It puts people in the mood to reconnect again with each other and set aside the daily drone.

The Biodanza community that was created at Omega is a pioneering effort since this was the 1st USA Encounter of Biodanza on the East Coast.  Yes, indeed, the group should be applauded for its sheer tenacity to show up and be.  Be present.  Be real.  Be.
Our sampler class was HUGE with 50 people +- in the Movement Studio and lots of smiling faces.  Young and old alike connected in simple yet profound ways in this session.  I was so thrilled to see the interest!  But after 3 days, there was a Biodanza Buzz on campus and they just HAD to come check it out! 

The Biodanza Showcase that same day generated the same wow factor.  In front of 200 Omega participants, Biodanceros invited others to come up to the front where we showed a little bit of what Biodanza in all about.  Wow!  We had so many people up on the dance floor and all were having FUN and moving to the tunes.

I felt joy most of this week as I delved into a full week of vivencia (8 classes in all) and this joy motivates me to keep on keepin’ on as I plant the seeds of Biodanza here on the East Coast USA.

I am pumped up about the NYC classes and Philadelphia seems to be taking off.  There is some action to be happening in Virginia Beach, too, and of course, my Maryland classes continue to enrich me weekly.

The 2nd USA School of Biodanza in on the horizon!  I can just feel it!  Fall of 2012 will continue with another gift to humanity given by Rolando Toro….the 1st East Coast USA Biodanza School!  Yeah!!

The essential nature of human is the eternal life’s celebration. This condition revels an enlighten vision on himself and on the world.

The inner enlightening is not a personal privilege. To be enlightened for himself is not enough. Our light is for enlighten who remain in the darkness, for be able to see their essence and transmit to them the light.

To live, is a very special opportunity, is the opportunity to perceive “the eternal human” and to feel in the body the life’s sacredness.

There is inside us something bigger and more marvellous than we think or do
If we don’t connect with that eternal depth feeling we are poor mortals full of difficulties, our life turns insignificant.

To acquire that connection with the life’s splendour is essential. Actually the enlighten, of which frequently speaks like an exceptional phenomenon full of mystic and occasional connotations, is a natural conditions of all human been. It’s about a change of vision of us and the meaning of life. It’s a new way of bonding to other people and face the difficulties like part of our alchemic job, accepting abundance and beauty that love generates.
We are much more than we generally think. We are cosmic creatures able to love and create beauty.

If we don’t assume the greatness, we become assassins and our life turns insignificant.

To my joy, carry on the highest task our existence can embrace: To give back to the world the life sacredness.
