My first amazing outdoor encounter with Biodanza in Johannesburg, South Africa completely redefined my vision for life and lit it on fire! I was blown away by the power of dance! After the 3 year Biodanza training in the South African School of Biodanza with Carolina Churba-Doyle, I decided to dedicate myself to the teaching of Biodanza worldwide. Since, I have trained with Rolando Toro, the creator of Biodanza, as well as many other fabulous instructors around the globe.
Biodanza is my life passion and I am now sharing that with the world. I began facilitation of Biodanza in Zambia, Africa where I had a Biodanza Studio for adults, children/youth and classes for moms/dads & tots. I also went to schools facilitating sessions for teachers and students as well as to a local hospice, Our Lady’s Hospice in Kalingalinga in Lusaka where I danced with the needing caretakers bi-monthly. This was a joy in my life!
I am a graduate of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut and Middlebury College in Vermont holding a BA and MA in French/Education. I have been an educator since 1985 both in the US and internationally, a Fulbright scholar in Benin which brought me to Africa in the first place in 1995. With my family, I then moved to and taught French/English at various schools in Uganda, South Africa and Zambia. I love Africa and hold it dear to my heart for all the gifts the people and continent have generously offered me both personally and spiritually.
In 2009 my family and I moved back to the USA where I began facilitating classes/workshops in Maryland, New York City, Miami and Philadelphia.
I have completed the extension for Biodanza for children/youth in South Africa with Alejandro Balbi Toro and love working with kids of all ages.
Biodanza-Voice & Percussion has also become a passion of mine and I have joyfully completed the Extension for Biodanza, Voice & Percussion with Sergio Cruz in Brazil.
I am a Master Reiki Practitioner in the Usui Reiki Ryoho tradition and try to surround myself with the numinous on a daily basis!
As Biodanza grows on the East Coast community, this website will be dedicated to informing the public about what is happening from Maine to Florida, so please contact me.
